When I heard the death of Auntie Theo, I was so shocked! Immediately my mind went back to her office in CUSS Yaounde in 1987. She had operated on my eye to remove a stye. In her calm voice and skilled hands she made me feel so safe. One year later she would do them procedure again. Auntie, rest in peace. May God continue to guid, protect and comfort your family

I never got to know Prof very much but I read and heard much about her as one who takes interest
in great minds and people who dedicate their lives to make paths for others to walk. Also because in
somehow injected myself into a part of her famiily through marriage.
She will be greatly missed. I extend my heartfelt condolence to her family, students, fellow scholars and
friends. I know God Almighty will receive her soul and grant her eternal rest.

"Aunty Dr. McMoli"- thats what we always called you, right from when we were little, it was always a mouthful and of course "Auntie Theo"- would've been easier but somehow that was the name that stuck in our little minds! As I write this, I am still in disbelief that you are gone. Sadly I didnt get to see you too much.
Just a few weeks ago, was planning to pay you a visit to get your insight on ophthalmology training in Cameroon and a strategy that was being developed. I figured you would be the best and most knowlegeable person to speak with and I was eager to get your take on a few things. I eagerly awaited the opportunity to see you not just in the capacity of a "big auntie" but also on a professional level- I knew you would have so much knowledge to impart and I was eager to absorb. Then, on that morning Fai told me...
Your absence has left a void that will never be filled. I realized the magnitude not just within our family but also in the academic and professional societies that you impacted. Last week I visited the faculty at CHU, and at Hopital Central, and all your students, trainees, colleagues, fellows spoke so highly of you. It was most palpable that you will be sorely missed by them as well as us. I pray that you find eternal peace and rest in the bossom of our heavenly father. Till we meet again.

Marvelous achiever of fortitude

Beloved mother, sister, wife and friend

Hello aunty,
I will not talk about your numerous academic accolades because the entire world must have read about them by now. I would like to just remember the good times we spent with you.To us , you were aunty Theo. You still called us by little pet names like "shey shey " for me and " my mommy" for Gwen. I was happy we got a chance to stay with you in Mesa upon our arrival from the states in 1988. you were always happy despite the fact that grand aunty Ebai Nsoh was old and sometimes hard to manage. your voice was always filled with love and affection, never harsh, never loud or irritated. The world didnot also know you had a" wicked" sense of humour. I remember one funny episode when grand aunty decided to start doing house cleaning at 4am each day. Your response: she was to clean if she so desires, as long as she didnot touch your bedroom door!
Well aunty, It was nearly a year ago that we saw each other at Regina's house in Frederick, Maryland. You did what you always did best, which is to encourage and inspire us with your kind and gentle words. I wish I knew that would be our last physical encounter, I would have given you the biggest bear hug ever. Well, rest in peace and we will see you someday in Heaven.
